DyKnow Vision runs on most Windows-based computers, as well as on Macintosh computers using Virtual Desktop. Mac users who require Virtual Desktop for a course can download the client by following the Virtual Desktop for Macs Running Windows Applications instructions. Mac users will not need to install DyKnow, instead they will use Virtual Desktop to access DyKnow.
These instructions are for upgrading DyKnow from an earlier version. If you are installing DyKnow for the first time, click here.
DePauw-specific Installation Instructions
- Download and install Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Redistributable 32-bit. If the software is already installed, you may get an option to Repair, Uninstall or Close. You should select repair, which will verify that the prior installation is correct. You may get a message that a newer version of Visual Studio 2010 is installed; if so, select Close and proceed to the next step.
- The remaining steps vary depending on whether you have a 32-bit operating system or a 64-bit operating system. If you are are not sure which operating system you have, you can:
- Download and install DyKnow Vision. The installer packages install silently without additional input from you.
- If you have a 32-Bit Operating System
- Download and install the 32-bit DyKnow Vision Installer.
- If you have a 64-bit Operating System
- Download and install the 64-bit DyKnow Vision Installer.
- Download and install the Link to Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 Redistributable 64-bit article. If the software is already installed, you will get an option to Repair, Uninstall or Close. You should select Repair to verify that the prior installation is correct.
