International Student and Off-Campus Access to DePauw Google, e-Services, etc.

When having issues connecting to Google or other DePauw online resources for their courses, international students can use DePauw’s Virtual Desktop or DePauw’s VPN.

DePauw’s Virtual Desktop (desktops.depauw.edu)

  1. Go to desktops.depauw.edu
    1. Select Check here to skip this screen and always use HTML Access
    2. Click VMware Horizon HTML Access
      Image of VMWare HTML
    3. At the VMware Horizon window, enter your DePauw Account username and password (i.e., e-Services/Moodle)
      Image of VMware Login
    4. In the Horizon window, click Default Desktop
      Image of VMware Default Desktop
    5. NOTE: Be Patient! It may take several seconds (or as even as long as 2-3 minutes) for the desktop to load. Once it is loaded and you see a Windows Desktop, it will run much faster and you can use Chrome to access Google, e-Services, Moodle, and other online resources. You can also run other applications available in the system (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

DePauw’s VPN (Virtual Private Network)

DePauw’s Virtual Private Network (VPN) enables faculty, staff, and students to securely access DePauw online resources from off campus using a Web browser. For additional information on VPNs:

Tips:

  • VPN licenses are limited. We recommend that you close your VPN connection when you’re finished so others may access the VPN.
  • VPN access is typically limited to a one hour session.
