Network: Accessing from off campus on a Mac

If this is your first time accessing the network from off campus, you must first download the VPN (Virtual Private Network) client.

Tips for using the VPN

  • VPN licenses are limited. We recommend that you download the file(s) you need to access, and then close your VPN connection so others may access the VPN.
  • VPN access is typically limited to a one hour session.
  • The VPN may automatically log you out after 15 minutes of inactivity.

Accessing the network from off campus is a two step process

  1. Connect to the VPN
  2. Connect to the network drives

1. Connect to the VPN

  1. Open your Macintosh HD
  2. Click Applications
  3. Double-click FortiClient
  4. At the FortiClient window
    1. Click Remote Access
    2. Enter your DePauw Account (i.e., e-Services) Username
    3. Enter your DePauw Account Password
    4. Click Connect

2. Connect to the network drives

  1. Connect to your network drives by double-clicking the appropriate network alias and entering your DePauw Account username and password
  2. Complete your task
  3. In the Net Extender window, click Disconnect when you are done working
