Box: Login

Box is DePauw’s default storage for work files. Accounts are activated when the user logs in for the first time using their DePauw Account (e.g., e-Services, Moodle) username and password.

Note: Instructions and images in this article may vary slightly depending on the browser that is being used.

  1. Browse to https://box.depauw.edu/
  2. At the Part of DePauw University? window, click Continue

  3. At the Pick an account window, select the account you want to use to login OR click Use another account

  4. At the Sign in window,
    1. Enter your username
    2. Click Next

    1. Enter your password
    2. Click Sign in

  6. If you are taken to your Box homepage, you have completed logging in. If not, then please continue on with these instructions to choose a security authentication method and/or join DePauw’s enterprise network in Box.

Additional security enhancements are active in Box. These enhancements prevent anyone other than the account owner from logging into the account and they better protect us from hackers or password thieves.

If a Choose an authentication method window displays for you, please follow the instructions at 2-Step Authentication to complete signing in.

Join the DePauw University Enterprise Network window

If you have set up a private account in Box using your username@depauw.edu email address, the Join the DePauw University Enterprise Network window shown below will display when you try to log in. STOP and read the options available to you as seen on your screen.

Option 1

If you DO NOT have personal data in your private Box account, click Yes in the Box invitation, log in to your account using your “old” Box password and follow the instructions to complete the process of migrating your account to DePauw’s Box.

Note: The Box folder you want your files to go to is called p-username.

Option 2

If you DO have personal non-DePauw data in your private Box account (such as photos, music, videos, personal documents, etc.), we recommend that you DO NOT migrate this content to DePauw’s Box and, instead, assign it to a personal non-DePauw address. For step-by-step instructions, go to How Do I Change My Password Or Email Address?

Once you have assigned the account to a personal address, contact the HelpDesk (HelpDesk@depauw.edu or 765-658-4294), so we can create a new DePauw Box account with your DePauw address. Once you are notified that your account has been set up, log into box.depauw.edu with your DePauw  Account (e.g., e-Services, network) username and password and selectively copy over any work files.
