There are two main components to consider when tracking attendance:
- Those who are attending the event need access to their Event Pass, which is similar to a boarding pass.
- Those who are taking attendance must have the Campus Labs® Event Check-in App installed and the event code.
Methods of taking attendance
- Using a card swipe reader with a Chromebook, HP laptop, or MacBook Air
- To check out a Chromebook and card swipe reader short term, contact Media Services at 765-658-4790 or mediastaff@depauw.edu.
- To buy your own card swipe reader, it must be a:
- Device that provides keyboard emulation.
- Device that inserts a carriage return after each swipe or scan.
- Device that is not encrypted.
- Device that has a standard USB port.
- Mobile phone check-in
- Attendees should go to the IT KnowledgeBase Gold Connect: Downloading your Event Pass article to learn what you need for checking in.
- Attendance takers must have Full access to the Events tool in the group hosting the event to utilize the Event Check-in App. Learn about downloading and using the Campus Labs® Event Check-in App at bit.ly/CLCheckInApp.

Additional information
- Event attendance can be taken anytime before the event and for one hour after the event when using a mobile phone or card swipe reader.
