The CommPortal is an online portal for managing your phone settings and voicemail. You will need JavaScript enabled in your browser to access the CommPortal.
Logging in
- Browse to voice.depauw.edu
- Enter your 10-digit telephone Number
- Enter your 8-character Password (Note: CommPortal passwords require letters, numbers, and special characters.)
- Select Remember me on this computer so you do not have to enter your credentials next time you log in
- Click Login
- Enter your 10-digit telephone Number

Overview of CommPortal
After logging in, you will see the name associated with your number, a Call button, an image of a gear (i.e., More options button), menu tabs, and the layout of the Dashboard tab. Learn specifics by logging in to the CommPortal and clicking Help in the More options section.
Dashboard
Access some of the key features of your phone, including voicemail, missed calls, contacts, and settings.
My Mobile
Retrieve messages using your cell phone or forward your cell phone calls to your on-campus voicemail account.
Messages & Calls
Messages
All new and stored voice messages.
Missed
Calls recently received and not answered.
Dialed
Recent calls made including Click To Dial calls.
Received
Recent calls answered.
Deleted
Messages in deleted items folder.
Contacts
Contact List
Contacts and groups that includes a search box.
Speed Dials
User-assigned two-digit code ranging from 20-49.
Extensions
DePauw’s internal phone book.
Short Codes
We have elected not to define these at this time.
Call Manager
Summary
Description of how calls received will be handled.
Forwarding
Options include immediately, busy/no answer, selected callers, and forwarding destination.
Follow Me
Redirects calls to one or more alternate destinations by defining rules.
Screening
Options include do not disturb, selective rejection, anonymous rejection, and priority call.
Apps
Integration with your DePauw Google Account, Call Me buttons for Web pages and email signatures, and QuickDial Accelerator are a few of the applications available to you through the CommPortal.
Settings
Account
Sections include personal details, security for changing password/PIN, and devices you have configured on your account.
Calls
Options include general call settings, call forwarding, call blocking, call jump, and call me buttons.
Messages
Options include general settings for voice messages, mailbox access, and voicemail greeting.
Notifications
Options for how you wish to receive notifications whenever a new message arrives for you.
- MWI (i.e., Message Waiting Indications) – Sends a signal to the phone when there is a voicemail or incoming message. If the light above your LCD panel is solid red, you have a new voicemail. If it is flashing, you have an incoming call.
- Email – Sends an email when a new message is received. Email notifications can be sent to multiple email addresses.
- Outdial – Enables you to set up a number that will be called according to a schedule whenever a new message arrives in your account.
- Override – Enables you to create a profile that will override the schedules you set up for your pager and outdial notifications.
Reminders
Rings a number at a specified time with a recorded message.
