Creating network aliases: Mac 10.5 (Leopard), 10.6 (Snow Leopard), 10.7 (Lion), 10.8 (Mountain Lion)

You must be logged into your Google Apps account to complete these instructions. (Note for Mountain Lion users: You need to follow the instructions at Temporarily disable Gatekeeper in Mac 10.8 (Mountain Lion) in order to complete this process.)

  1. Click CreateNetworkAliases7.3.app to download the installation file.
  2. In the Sites Download Attachment window, click here. (Note for Mountain Lion users: You need to follow the instructions at to change back to the default settings to make your computer more secure.)

  3. Double-click the createNetworkAliases7.3.app file you just downloaded.
  4. Click Open → OK.

  5. Enter your network username, click OK.
  6. Enter your network password, click OK.
  7. Select your association (i.e. Student, Faculty or Staff). (Note: This step may take several seconds to complete.)
  8. Click OK.
  9. Double-click the appropriate alias to access the drive.
